MaxTech Announces New ITU V.90 Upgrade Option for NetPacer Modems Cerritos, CA (February 23, 1998): MaxTech Corporation announced the availability of the recently introduced ITU standard (V.90) upgrade software for its popular line of 56kbps NetPacer and Netpacer Pro modems. The NETPACER line includes models featuring Voice Mail, Speakerphone functions, PNP and is available in external/internal ISA versions, as well as PCMCIA format. Users who have purchased MaxTech’s line of K56flex based modems will be able to upgrade to the new V.90 standard by early April 1998. The new ITU standard for V.90 now makes all previous technology for 56k protocols such as K56flex and X2 compatible. Now consumers and resellers can buy with the confidence that their 56K modems will work with all major ISP’s deploying the new ITU standard. The following Netpacer models are now included in MaxTech’s 56K Upgrade Program: The XPM56I Internal Modem,56 Kbps V.34 Data/14.4k Fax, PnP The XPVS56I/R Internal Modem 56 Kbps V.34 Modem with Voice, PnP, Full Duplex Speakerphone Function MaxTech 56K ITU upgrades will be available via download from the company’s website at www.maxcorp.com or via BBS at 562-921-7180.
