Maxtech Introduces New Series of Internet Gateway Hubs

Cerritos, CA (April 29, 1999) -- Maxtech Corporation today introduced two new Internet Gateway Hubs with built-in firewall, remote access and modem bonding. The Maxtech HUTG-1 and TUDG-8 each allow multiple network users to share one ISP account, saving money for years to come.

Each Maxtech Internet Gateway Hub gives remote access to mission-critical information via email, file sharing and remote network administration. The built-in Internet firewall protects your network from hackers and unauthorized intruders. With dual modem bonding, you can achieve speeds of up to 128k with two 56k modems.

Two RS-232 ports will support any speed modem, ISDN TA or lease-line connection up to 256K each. Two modem connections to the Internet can be used simultaneously for higher bandwidths, with dial-on-demand and auto-disconnect to save on access costs. In addition to firewall protection, a filter gives control of internal access to the Internet. Both models allow modem 2 to be configured to allow up to three remote users to dial-in to the network. ID/password protection, or the more secure "callback" function, can be used to ensure that the user is on the dial-in list. The systems can be easily configured using a terminal program, telnet from the network, or web-based management.

The HUTG-1's RJ-45 port connects easily to an existing network. The TUDG-8 includes eight auto-sensing RJ-45 ports, allowing creation of a network that connects both legacy 10Mb equipment as well as 100Mb for those requiring more bandwidth. The integrated 10/100 switch provides seamless connectivity between the two network speeds. Port 8 can be used as an uplink (crossover) port for expansion or connection to existing networks.

With a suggested retail price is $189 for the HUTG-1 and $399 for the TUDG-8, both products represent an amazing price breakthrough which comes from the next generation of technology. Both can be purchase from Ingram Micro, D & H and Tech Data.
