Maxtech Expands NetPacer Line of Wireless Networking Products
Cerritos, CA (April 22, 1999) -- Maxtech Corporation's NetPacer Wireless products are causing
a networking revolution because they save both time and money. Business Research Group, a market research firm,
predicts a sixfold expansion of the worldwide wireless LAN market by the year 2000, reaching more than $2 billion
in revenues.
The Growing reliance on networking in business and the meteoric growth of the Internet are testimony to the need
for more powerful and efficient methods of networking. The inherent benefits using RF wireless networking are numerous.
Wireless LAN systems can provide LAN users with constant access to real-time information anywhere in their organization.
Installing a NetPacer wireless LAN system can be fast and easy and can eliminate the need to pull cable through
walls and ceilings. Wireless technology allows the network to go where wire cannot go.
Overall installation expenses and life-cycle costs can be significantly lower than that of wired networks. Long-term
cost benefits are greatest in dynamic environments requiring frequent moves and changes. Wireless LAN systems can
be configured in a variety of topologies to meet the needs of specific applications and installations. The advantages
of wireless become dramatic when the time inevitably comes to augment or re-configure the network.
"Maxtech and its design teams have been studying and developing wireless LAN products for several years to
meet this explosive new market," said Gary Schultz, Netpacer's Sales and Marketing Director. Maxtech offers
perhaps the most aggressive pricing on one of the broadest lines of wireless products, including:
· XWL-411 Wireless Access Point - Provides wireless clients, such as desktops and notebooks, access to the
wired network. Optional Omni or Directional antennas can be used to create building-to-building connectivity up

· XWL-420 Wireless ISA NIC - Provides wireless LAN connectivity and mobility to most any desktop with an
ISA slot. Optional software available to provide Soft Access Point utility.

The perfect solution for Educational, Healthcare, home or office connectivity needs.
· XWL-450 Wireless Station Adapter - Designed to provide wireless LAN mobility and connectivity to most
desktops! Can be used as a Wireless LAN station adapter for any desktop that already has a NIC card installed.
Can also be used as a wireless LAN repeater and as a low-cost Access Point for SOHO solutions.
· XWL-440 Wireless NIC - Similar to the SWL-420, but designed for PC 104 architecture.

All NetPacer products utilize Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum technology. DSSS provides a signal that is protected
by a redundant bit pattern for each bit to be transmitted. Even if one or more bits in the chip are damaged during
transmission, statistical techniques embedded in the radio can recover the original data without the need for retransmission.
All NetPacer devices meets IEEE 802.11 wireless standards.
